Jewellery Quarter - Birmingham
Ramora were approached by Parade Civil Engineering, one of the framework contractors for Birmingham City Council, involved with the regeneration of the Jewellery Quarter, with respect to highways. They had laid a granite set island using an innovative grouting mixture that holds the sets in place, even in a high traffic environment. The grout works in a way that it must be wet when worked, and although a good job was done, a film of grout was left over the granite sets.
Ramora were requested to initially carry out a demonstration to show the level of pressure and detailed cleaning work required to achieve the level of finish required by Birmingham City Council engineers. Following a very successful demonstration Ramora were asked to complete the job of cleaning the new traffic island and the exits from the island. A key problem was the site was surrounded by residential blocks, a solution was to continue the road closure for two days to allow the Ramora teams to focus on the entire area, allowing maximum production for the teams.
The Operators then had the painstaking task of cleaning each individual granite set and surrounding paving to remove the film of grout. The job was completed within the two day extension of the road closure to the complete satisfaction of the planners, Birmingham City Council and our client Parade Civil Engineering.
The Mall Group - Sutton Coldfield
Ramora have been pleased to be working for The Mall Group for the last 5 years. Their association with the group started in its local Mall shopping centre in Sutton Coldfield on the outskirts of Birmingham.
Ramora have performed a number of projects for the Group including the deep cleaning of their customer car parks on a monthly basis. High level cleaning of their material canopies with specialist IRATA trained rope access technicians occurs annually and this has often included high level glass canopy cleaning within the shopping centre also.As well as chewing gum and graffiti removal Ramora were recently approached to see what we could suggest with improving the overall appearance of the facade of the shopping centre itself.
We used the Ramora steam system utilising a Dyanjet 350 to steam clean the facade working after 6pm so not to cause disturbance to the day to day operations of the business.
The results were fantastic and the improvement to the site truly measurable.
